This tenant advice targets rcW 59.18.550 of the Washington State Landlord Tenants Act (RLTA) and clarifies the rights and requirements of tenants living in “drug- and alcohol-free housing,” including their right to due process in the event of eviction (also known as Illegal Action of Detention (UDA)). I`m just curious. I lived in a hobby home in York, Pennsylvania. I stayed there for 19 days. I stayed sober and I`m still sober. I first had to change my insurance in York County before I could start I.O.P and get help to found it. The landlord knew I had no family to help me with the rent. My mother died when I was 16 and my father passed away 11 months ago. As an only child, I simply had no one to help me with the rent. I came out of rehabilitation for 3 months, Halfway House for 3 months, but due to Covid-19, Halfway House was put on Quantin. So we were not allowed to work.
Finished the halfway house and went to this leisure home. In the meantime, I`m trying to find work. I was told on the 19th day there that I had been deported and that I had 15 to 20 minutes to pack my bags and leave. Nowhere. Hi, I really need help with this crazy special question. I was given a bed in this sober house called Haven of Hope, and upon delivery of the move-in fee, I was told that they had randomly switched to $550, but I only had $350 at the time. So the next day I was called to the manager`s office to check the rules and payment issues/plans. that was actually what I thought of what was going to happen. Instead, she simply kicked me back for smaller things like turning on lights, being too noisy, and smoking in the designated area, even after 11 p..m. So I said wow, ok, I can please return my deposit since I wasn`t even there for a full 24 hours. Can you believe that this ubsurd lady tells me that “absolutely not, it is not refundable.” It`s not legally legal, right? ¿ I had heard through my lawyer that to do this, you must have lived there for at least 72 hours.
Please. it is essential for my well-being and recovery, as I bought a bed in another better location to meet my probation needs. Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a nice day…..! A notice period of three days with one day to comply with the rental gives the tenant one day after receiving the notice to stop the use of drugs or alcohol and to comply with the regulations. If the tenant complies, the landlord cannot go further with the eviction and the lease does not end. If the tenant is unable to comply within one day of receiving the notice – and at the end of the three-day period if the tenant has not left – the landlord can continue the eviction process by serving a subpoena for UDA. The tenant part of the premises must include access to all common living areas, kitchen, laundry room and others, as well as a private/shared room. The monthly supply of water, garbage, electricity and gas (up to the basic allowance) is included in the monthly rent. The tenant is solely responsible for all telephone installations and fees, as well as the installation and costs of cable television, as well as for any excessive ancillary costs exceeding the basic allowance. Can my landlord kick me out of a sober house on the grounds that I tested positive for benzos and didn`t take benzos, I took another urine for my doctor the same day and nothing else appeared but my prescribed medications at a normal level and nothing else that the owner says, that I failed for benzos and his lab studied it and I abused oxazepam, temazepam like crazy drugs I`ve never heard of, and then he says I found methamphetamine, amphetamine and marijuana when I just tested positive for benzos? What?? This is absolutely absurd. Oh and he says his little rinky Dink Lab is more serious than the laboratory at Boston Medical Center, one of the best hospitals in the world, okay buddy.
I am paved for no good reason. If you think I have a legitimate case or argument here, I think I need to seek legal advice here. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Due to the complexity of this information, it is published in two parts. The next article will discuss in more detail some of the barriers faced by people living in clean, sober apartments – including the problems that a faster eviction process would bring – and how these tenants could benefit from additional protections that allow them to stay in stable apartments. I own a sober house. I had a resident coming home drunk. we don`t let them stay because they can be a trigger for other alcoholics.
I paid for his taxi for a local mission that provides a bed for the night. Could I get into trouble because I didn`t allow him to stay at night Hello my name is Eddie I`m a house manager in Boston mass on a sober mass home.my question is that I live here and I`m the house manager, why do I have to pay rent and I`m the house manager I get a discount, but shouldn`t I get free rent like all the sober homes in Boston Mass.Je work part-time and still have to pay $100 a week, is that fair? A regular tenant pays $170 a week, I mean, I clean the whole house every morning, make sure to pick up urine and the house is safe, why does the landlord let me pay rent while I work full-time here is it legal? I need to know if we have signed an agreement not to use or break the rules. Or get 3 hits. But if we do, we could be asked to leave within the hour. Is it legal? I live sober in ky. And they accepted my money, it was a partial payment. It is every week that I am harassed when I go to pay rent and if I pay the majority who owe about $50, they are threatened with eviction within an hour. Someone please help me! Hi, I`m in California and I`m building my sober dorm right now. So far, it`s soybeans out of my pocket and I`m registered and I have a tenant who (my mistake and I knew it) last year, when buying a property; lost her house (she is a dear friend of my mother & bf) with her 5th wheel. They have a year-round camp permit on site and had an agreement to be here every 30 days for 10 days to park and pay a small monthly fee, so I went ahead and tied them to the septic tank (we are integrated and everything is code compliant, have their own power box, etc.).
BUT THEY NEVER LEFT!. she went ahead to move in with a teenage granddaughter, they use drugs; refused to sign anything, knows that it is waiting for registration for the coalition as a sober life and now squats! She had stolen 2 Wi-Fi cable boxes from one of the duplexes, so I finally unplugged the cable, but now all the tenants are suffering. I have been approved for 3 new tenants, 2 by the courts on probation programs and I will look for p.o. here and 1 with the housing authority on the voucher program plus inspections will follow shortly. What can I do because I live soberly and at the meeting she took the minutes of the meeting from her hand. She knows all the rules, she is mischievous and told the tenants that she refused to leave and tried to silence me. for what, I don`t know, but bc I don`t have a lease they should just be a parking space. I have to chase her away bc everyone has a 4 hour notification and she came to a request last year and refused to do more bc she said her bf would never sign anything bc she r on drugs!! What can I do?! I don`t want to lose my good representation, I`m trying to establish community, and that really ruins my purpose here (I know I`ve ruined it trying to help someone I know. I`ve been in the business for a long time and I know better, but I`m in this sit know..) Ideas?..
